Ground state correlations and mean - field in 16
نویسندگان
چکیده
We use the coupled cluster expansion (exp(S) method) to generate the complete ground state correlations due to the NN interaction. Part of this procedure is the calculation of the two-body G matrix inside the nucleus in which it is being used. This formalism is being applied to O in a configuration space of 50 h̄ω. The resulting ground state wave function is used to calculate the binding energy and oneand two-body densities for the ground state of O.

This document gives a detailed account of the terms used in the computation of the ground state mean field and the ground state correlations. While the general approach to this description is given in a separate paper (nucl-th/9802029) we give here the explicite expressions used. PACS: 21.60.−n, 21.60.Gx, 21.60.Cs, 21.60.Jz
متن کاملMicroscopic models for exotic nuclei
Starting from successful self-consistent mean-field models, this paper discusses why and how to go beyond the mean field approximation. To include long-range correlations from fluctuations in collective degrees of freedom, one has to consider symmetry restoration and configuration mixing, which give access to ground-state correlations and spectroscopy. متن کاملCombined effects of pressure, temperature, and magnetic field on the ground state of donor impurities in a GaAs/AlGaAs quantum heterostructure
In the present work, the exact diagonalization method had been implemented to calculate the ground state energy of shallow donor impurity located at finite distance along the growth axis in GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructure in the presence of a magnetic field taken to be along z direction. The impurity binding energy of the ground state had been calculated as a function of confining frequency and mag...
متن کاملShort - range Correlations in a CBF description of closed - shell nuclei . ∗
The Correlated Basis Function theory (CBF) provides a theoretical framework to treat on the same ground mean–field and short–range correlations. We present, in this report, some recent results obtained using the CBF to describe the ground state properties of finite nuclear systems. Furthermore we show some results for the excited state obtained with a simplified model based on the CBF theory

The influence of short-range correlations on the p-wave single-particle spectral function in 16O is studied as a function of energy. This influence, which is represented by the admixture of high-momentum components, is found to be small in the p-shell quasihole wave functions. It is therefore unlikely that studies of quasihole momentum distributions using the (e, ep) reaction will reveal a sign...
